The three Central American natives pictured here are the Red-Eyed Tree Frog, the Tiger Pierid Butterfly and the Miltonia Orchid Plant. These three species could all be found living in the same habitat.
In many cultures, the metamorphic frog is a symbol of renewal and good fortune. The Chinese practice of Feng Shui, celebrates the frog as a symbol of wealth and rebirth. In ancient Egyptian culture the Goddess Heket, considered to be the patron of fertility, is depicted as a frog. Celtics, believing that every body of water has its own spirit, revered frogs as messengers of water spirits and symbols of healing. In Shamanism frogs are heralded as symbols of cleansing.
