My husband Franklin and I with our best friends Richard & Cynthia Gay and Malcolm & Jenean Glover. Richard is Senior VP of VH1 and CMTV. Malcolm is a corporate manager. Franklin is a civil rights attorney. Cynthia birthed the Gay's four children in a four year span. Jenean is a Hollywood Manager/Producer. I was pregnant, here, with our fifth son, in the summer of 2004.

Celebrating my dear friend attorney/writer/dancer/mom Dion Raymond's birthday in my backyard and my dear friend legendary filmmaker Charles Burnett, whose "Killer of Sheep" was declared a "National Treasure" by the Library of Congress.

With my dear friends Charles Burnett and (actress) Susan McWilliams at a screening of Charles' film "Warming by the Devil's Fire" (a PBS/Martin Scorsese production), in which Susan co-starred. I've known Susan's family since college.

Las Cubanitas Libres. With my Cuban friends Maria Gil (center) and Elena in Los Angeles and a picture of Celia Cruz. Maria and I were both born in Cuba. Elena is first generation born American Cuban. We get together to cook tostones and drink Malta con leche condensada, while listening to Celia Cruz CD's.

With my 5th son and friends. Robert Routh and legendary comedian Timmie Rogers (1915-2006). Mr. Routh is a WW II veteran, blinded in the Port Chicago explosion. Mr. Rogers was the first African American on the Jackie Gleason Show.

In Feb. 2007, with my beautiful and brilliant cousin Shashana Ayllón. Fluent in Sign Language, Shashana is a special education teacher for the deaf in NYC, and an MA candidate.

In July 2006, with my dear friend Michael Hano and my fifth son. Michael is a herpetologist and appears on TV shows with his reptiles. We've been friends since our freshman year at Cornell.
