A photograph I had taken of my husband, Franklin L. Ferguson, Jr., and his law school classmates inspired me to make this painting. In the snapshot my husband and his peers were strutting their stuff down the ramp of an NYU student fashion show. The event was in celebration of Black History Month. My husband Franklin (now a civil rights attorney) is the one with the peace sign. |
