Benny Moré (1919-1963) was like the Nat King Cole of Cuba. His beautiful tenor voice was one to whom I grew up listening, thanks to my parents. Nicknamed el Bárbaro del Ritmo (the "wildman of the rhythm") Benny More often wore a hat and cane. The flowers I painted behind him are the Mariposa flowers, Cuba's national flower.
